Easy Trucking Software on more than one computer

Learning to use Easy Trucking Software on more than one computer Easily

For some small fleets, the workload is more than 1 person can possibly handle in a business day and the question has been asked, how can I have more than 1 person in Easy Trucking Software at the same time.

The answer to this is to load Easy Trucking Software on 2 separate computers.   This program is currently not networkable and we are incorporating this into our next version.  But until then, use your Easy Trucking Software CD and load the program on 2 separate computers using the same password for in both programs.   Each computer would perform a separate function of the Easy Trucking Software program.  Each machine would be independent from the other.

Load Easy Trucking Software on one computer and this computer would handle all the Fuel Tax entries ONLY.  The person assigned to this data entry would create the Fuel Tax reports and provide the information and reports necessary to handle the quarterly IFTA reporting.

Load your second computer with Easy Trucking Software.  This person would handle all the inputting ONLY for the Profit Per Mile on this machine.  Trip information would include all the load/trip information, income for each load and load expenses.  This person would also be responsible for Invoicing and load reconciliation plus any reports desired from the Reports tab.

Each person works independent of the other and each creates their own separate reports from the Report tab of the program.

Fuel receipts would need to be shared between the 2 co-workers.  This is the only information that would be shared.

It is important that once you begin splitting your information between 2 different computers that you do NOT try to combine the information into 1 computer again.  Once the information has been split, it needs to remain that way.  Combining the information from the Profit Per Mile and the Fuel Manager into one program would create a nightmare of problems and result in a loss of information. 

Always be sure that each copy of Easy Trucking Software on both computers is backed up at the end of the data entering for the day.  This will help prevent any loss of information.

We also recommend using a USB Flash Drive for backing up the Easy Trucking Software program data or using an external hard drive backup system for backing up all your programs and files on the entire computer.  This is an individual choice, and we highly encourage you to do some sort of backing up of your computer.

Data files can be retrieved if you have been doing a regular backup process from which to retrieve them.  Otherwise, if the data is lost and no backup is available, pull up a chair and begin entering your information all over again.
